Prostitution in Mexico, is largely illegal, but there are tolerance zones in some cities where it is legal.[1]. In recent years, legislation has been proposed in places such as Tijuana and Mexico City in an effort to regulate prostitution. The government provides shelter for former prostitutes.[2]
