Prosecution of Offenders Act 1985

The Prosecution of Offenders Act 1985 was an Act of Parliament in the United Kingdom. Its main effects were to move the responsibility of prosecution of offenders from the police to the newly formed Crown Prosecution Service,[1] and to codify the prosecution process.
