In Ahmadiyya Islam two different views of Prophethood, and its finality, are held. The larger Ahmadiyya Muslim Community holds that prophets subordinate to Muhammad can appear even after his death, but they may not bring any new law, as this has been completed and perfected with the appearance of Muhammad. They believe that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was a prophet and Messiah in this sense. Though no prophet has appeared between Muhammad and Ghulam Ahmad.[1] In contrast, the Lahore Ahmadiyya Movement believe that Muhammad was the final and always will be the final prophet and that Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was the promised Messiah but was a prophet in an allegorical sense only.[2]
