Prophet" were a band from New Jersey that in an early incarnation featured Dean Fasano (lead and backing vocalist), Ken Dubman (guitar and vocals), Scott Metax as (bass and vocals), Joe Zujkowski (keyboard), and Ted Poley (drummer and lead vocals). This was the line up of the first album in 1985. Prior to this William Runco (guitar and vocals) was also part of the band. Ted Poley went to fame singing for Danger Danger. Scott and Joe were originally in a band called Icarian and then formed Tom Fuller's Rock City with local guitarist, Tom Fuller and singer Marc Hoffman, who played the drums. Quickly afterwards Hoffman, Metaxas, and Zujkowski hooked up with young virtuoso Ken Dubman to form the newly dubbed "Prophet". After many years of honing their already accomplished musicianship,Prophet was the best cover band in the tri-state area, and continued to be so later under the name Edgar Cayce. At that point they only used the name Prophet while performing original material. After numerous changes in drummers and vocalists they recorded recorded their second album, "Cycle of the Moon" with vocalist extrodinaire Russell Arcara. Their third album, "Recycled" included legendary TT Quick Guitarist Dave Dipietro and awesome New York/New Jersey club mainstay, drummer Jim Callahan along with the Metaxas/Dubman/Zujkowski nucleus. Prophet had a brother band relationship of sorts with TT Quick, who later played covers under the name Big Richard. Eventually, the final incarnation of Edgar Cayce consisted of Dubman, Callahan, and TT Quck vocalist Mark Tornillo (who also played bass). Both Prophet/Edgar Cayce and TT Quick/Big Richard maintained reputations as incredibly professional live acts with exceptional musicianship and clarity of sound quality with extraordinary caliber singers in Arcara and Tornillo.
