Progressive Movement (Cameroon)

The Progressive Movement (French: Mouvement Progressiste, MP) is a political party in Cameroon. It was formed on 23 August 1991 and is led by Jean Jacques Ekindi.[1]

Ekindi, running as the party's presidential candidate, finished 13th out of 16 candidates with 0.27% of the vote in the 11 October 2004 presidential election.[2][3] Ekindi was elected as an MP candidate to the National Assembly in the 22 July 2007 parliamentary election from the Wouri Centre constituency in Littoral Province, where the MP received 22.43% of the vote and one of the three seats available there. Ekindi was the only member of his party to win a seat in the 2007 election.[4]
