Professional Bodyguard Association

The Professional Bodyguard Association is one of the largest employers and trainers of bodyguards in the world.

The PBA was founded in 1985 by John Tombs. [1] His lifelong career has been in close protection, surveillance, and covert operations.

Since the introduction of the SIA (Security Industry Authority), it is now a government requirement that all Close Protection operatives have a license to work. Training to pass the qualifying examination is provided within the PBA. Their Chief Instructor is also Special Forces trained.

The PBA were the first organisation in the world outside of the USA to be granted the `Seal of ApprovalĀ“ by ASLET. Further, the PBA were the first organisation in the world outside of the USA to be granted a Corporate Partnership by the FBI National Academy Associates.
