Profanation (Preparation for a Coming Darkness) is an album by Bill Laswell-led supergroup, Praxis, released in Japan on January 1, 2008. The album features guest appearances by Iggy Pop, Mike Patton, Serj Tankian and Killah Priest among others.[1] (in Japanese)

The album was originally scheduled for U.S. release on September 27, 2005, by the now bankrupt and defunct Sanctuary Records.

It has been speculated that the U.S. release delay has to do with contractual difficulties between the artists and their various record labels. It is currently only available for purchase by ordering it from Japan. A Japanese site released samples of each song at: http://www.neowing.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=COCB-53688
