Processus (Kingdom of Hungary)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The processus (Latin: processus/ reambulatio, Hungarian: szolgabírói járás, Slovak: slúžnovský obvod/slúžnovský okres, German: Stuhlbezirk) was the name of the lowest-level administrative unit (district) in the Kingdom of Hungary between the 15th century and 1918.
The counties in the Kingdom of Hungary were composed of processus, till 1848 led by noble judges. Between 1867 and 1918, the names processus and the simpler district (Hungarian: járás, Slovak: okres, German: Bezirk) were used interchangeably. See Comitatus (Kingdom of Hungary) for details.
