Probir Gupta

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Probir Gupta (born 1960) is an artist, curator and activist based in New Dehli.

Gupta was born in Calcutta. His paintings and installations are often based around pieces of found scrap metal that he has scavenged from military sites around Dehli.[1] His imagery references the dangers and anxiety present in the early days of British colonialism in India[2] and the political ramifications of that history.[3]
