Pro Cycling Manager 2007 is a cycling team management game. It is available on PC and PSP. It was released prior to the 2007 Tour de France. The objective of the game is to take control of one of sixty teams in the game and lead them through several seasons as their manager. Your duties include signing new riders, training, budgeting and scheduling races.

Contents

[edit] Teams

There are 61 teams in the game, 20 ProTour and 41 Continental, as well as National Teams for the World Championships. 18 of the 20 UCI ProTour teams are fully licensed , with only Astana and Unibet not licensed (They are instead called Kazakstana and Unibotte.com). Of the 41 Continental teams, most are unlicensed and have the team and riders' names based on the real thing, but not quite real (For example: Alexandre Venokourov).

[edit] Riders

There are over 1500 riders available for use in the game. Riders will progress through their careers just as you progress through your career. Nurture the young riders and turn them into stars of the future. Riders have to be scouted, trained and cared for.

Unfortunately though, Cyanide made these riders develop their stats very quickly so sometimes this will lead to a very young rider winning races before he should be able to.

[edit] Races

The game includes the full ProTour calendar as well as plenty of Continental races from across the globe.

[edit] Customisation

There have been many 'un-official' add-ons to each version of Pro Cycling Manager, and the 2007 game is no exception. With Fansites of PCM full of plenty of downloads. A database pack can include the following:

  • Real Names for all riders and teams
  • Updated statistics for the riders
  • Additional Stages and Races
  • Additional Teams and Riders
  • Updated or Customised Jerseys

[edit] Reception

The game didn't score high, the few places anyone reviewed it. They did praise the new grapichs, but overall, they felt, that Cyanide had only released a half-done game, full of irritating bugs and so on.
