ProMedica Health System is a non-profit health care system with locations in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. The system includes a health education and research center, health maintenance organization, nursing homes, a local business network of private practices,[1] and several hospitals[2] About 2,900 ProMedica physicians care for approximately 2 million patients each year.

In 1986, the company was established in Toledo, Ohio with The Toledo Hospital, and Toledo Children's Hospital. Throughout the years, it has expanded to include other hospitals to cover 23 counties: Bay Park Community Hospital (Oregon), Bixby Medical Center (Adrian), Defiance Regional Medical Center (Defiance), Flower Hospital (Sylvania), Fostoria Community Hospital (Fostoria), Herrick Medical Center (Tecumseh), and Lima Memorial Health System (Lima).[2]
