As follows:

During the Croatian War of Independence from Yugoslavia, Prljavo kazalište became one of the most famous groups in Croatia<1>, as it was one of the few Ex-Yugoslav Croatian bands that espoused Croatian patriotism<2> and thus was not confined to the margin.<3>

There are three distinct claims here, marked <1>, <2>, and <3>:

  • <1> is not true; Prljavo kazalište was already one of the most famous groups in Croatia by the mid-80s
  • <2> is quite possibly true
  • <3> implies that not espousing Croatian patriotism meant being confined to the margin; this is not true, making <2> pointless.
