[edit] April 2008

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you. Also please be more civil. [edit] Damaging The Community

What really damages the community is the continual harassment of contributors by bots which do not work properly and make a mess of the hard work of others. Nothing I said was uncivil, actually it was quite restrained given that I have done nothing wrong and my work is being questioned by a robot that is only designed to do one thing, and gets it wrong.

If you are responsible for maintaining a bot, then you are responsible for the damage it does. If you cannot maintain your bot properly, then you cannot complain when someone comments on that fact. In essence you are vandalising my work.

[edit] Tiresome Comment On Your Bot

Your bot deleted my image from an article I contributed to: Image:Lunar2007 029.jpg

The said image is mine. It is tagged properly for copyright. Do not deleted my contributions again. Many of us are now spending more time dealing with bots vandalising our contributions than we are contributing to the site. If you are responsible for maintaining a bot, then you are responsible for the damage it does. This is the third time this month that this has happened and I think that its time its accepted that there is no point contributing to Wikipedia if articles and images are attacked three times a week. In essence this is simply vandalism, and I have noticed that the people who appoint themselves as the maintainers of bots tend to be very aggressive when their actions are questioned. I do not steal other people's images, I do tag my images as my own work. I do not expect my hard work to be vandalised and deleted. Make sure that this is the last time this happens. Thank you PrivateWiddle (talk) 13:25, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

If you're going to complain, it works better if you don't exaggerate. OrphanBot hasn't touched that image since January 4, 2008, and none of my other bots have ever done anything with any of your images. --Carnildo (talk) 18:33, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] August 2007 lunar eclipse?

Hi, I was curious about your image on August 2007 lunar eclipse. It states it was taken from England, while this eclipse wasn't visible there. [1]

Ah, The image itself has a date stamp of 22:14, 3 February 2007, although that still doesn't make sense, while there was a lunar eclipse on March 3, not Feb 3, 2007, but at least it was visible in England. Image:Lunar2007_029.jpg
Does this image represent the March 3, 2007 eclipse?

I can't imagine what I was thinking, you are quite right. thank you, i'll take it down. PrivateWiddle (talk) 02:43, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Glad I could help. You can move to March_2007_lunar_eclipse if that's correct. SockPuppetForTomruen (talk) 03:58, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
