The town of Otzoloapa it is located at the southeast of Estado de México at coordinates 19 º 02 '56 "(parallel), at 19 ° 09' 26" (parallel) north latitude and the meridian, the longitude of 100 ° 11 '56 "100 ° 24 '37" with respect to west longitude, at an altitude of 1450 meters above the sea level. Bordered on the north by St. Thomas of Bananas, south with Zacazonapan of Tejupilco, in the east Temascaltepec, Valle de Bravo and west to the state of Michoacan.[1]

Otzoloapan contains 160.48 km2 that represent the 71% of the State territory. Is composed of 42 towns and is at an altitude of 1314 meters above sea level.[2]

Otzoloapan was founded by the Matlazincas, being the first habitants in the pre-Hispanic era, in 1476, Otzoloapan is submitted by the Mexicas when Axayácatl began its conquest against Matlazincas of the south.[3]

It is known that the people of Otzoloapan was founded by the Spanish Don Juan del Aguila Marquis, by the year 1560, after the conquest of Mexico, and by order of Don Hernán Cortés.[4]

Agriculture

It is the most important activity within the municipality has 1740 hectares intended for agricultural use of which 99.27% is intended for temporary crop, while the rest 0.63% corresponds to crop irrigation.[6]

Agricultural activity consists mainly of corn with low production of vegetables and fruits, the latter are identified so very special.[7]


Industry

One of the biggest problems in the municipality is high unemployment due to the lack of opportunities, if such is the lack of industry in any branch of production.[8]

Tourism

This branch of the economy has not been exploited, mainly due to low utilization of natural and cultural resources for tourism and recreation. This has also generated that there are no investments in the hotel structure and food.[9]
