Let me be the first to say CONGRATULATIONS to Wikipedia for being awarded the 2004 PAE in the Digital Communities category. Job well done! JB82 00:30, 5 May 2004 (UTC)

Yay! -- The Anome 00:33, 5 May 2004 (UTC)

Good Job Wiki--Chandler2525 00:45, 5 May 2004 (UTC)

Is this self-reference? - George Washington III 01:19, 5 May 2004 (UTC)

I'd say maybe somewhat, but offset by the fact that the page has other content too (though someone could add the remaining categories) and by the general w00tage factor. -- Kizor 07:21, 5 May 2004 (UTC)

Huh. I could've sworn 2004 - 1987 isn't 25. Where'd this 25th anniversary thing come from? - Marnevel

From a misreading - it's the 25th birthday of Ars Electronica (the organization), but they started to give the prize when they were 8 years old already. I fixed that sentence in the article already. andy

Question:on the mailing list, somebody mentioned something about a 10,000 euro prize (maybe). Is there any info on this, and can we include it? Meelar 00:27, 6 May 2004 (UTC)

All the details are on their website. I've added info to the article. --Camembert

The lovely little article on the 2004 Prix winners website mentions plural "wikipedias" with a lower-case W -- I've dropped them a note asking them to change this; if we allow it to happen without comment, then we risk Wikpedia becoming a genericized trademark. Catherine - talk 23:06, 16 May 2004 (UTC)

I don't think it's such a terrible offence. They're referring to the many language versions of the Wikipedia, so using the plural makes sense; it's not like they're using the word to refer to all online encylopedias, or all of our mirrors or anything. --Camembert

[edit] Name of award

Why is the award called the "Nica"? If an explanation is available it could usefully be added to the article. JamesMLane 19:08, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)

It's obviously a pun on Ars Electro"nica" and the Nike of Samothrace. I've tried to make this clearer in the text.--Pharos 23:10, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Relation to Nika Award

Isn't this article related with Nika Award? In the article it's just spelled "Nica." Redirect or merge if it is. --68.239.240.144 15:25, 25 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:PRIXARS RGB.jpg

Image:PRIXARS RGB.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
