Canon 3 of the Canons of the Scottish Episcopal Church states that the style and title of the Primus is of the form:
"The Most Reverend _________ Bishop of __________, Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church"
[edit] Just Curious
I'm assuming that the position of Primus resembles that of an archbishop in some ways. Is there a reason why the Scottish church has no archbishop as such? Cranston Lamont (talk) 03:41, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

- The Primus is first amonst equals without metorpolitian jurasdicition. Hence the reason why (s)he is not an Archbishop. The section - History of the Primus - identifies that Archbishop Ross was the last Archbishop and head of the SEC. The next head of the SEC - Bishop Fullerton - had different responsibilities and was styled as Primus. --Stewart (talk) 09:17, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
