Prix du Petit Couvert

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Prix du Petit Couvert is a Group 3 flat horse race in France for three-year-old and above thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 1,000 metres (approximately 5 furlongs) at Longchamp Racecourse in September.

It was first run in 1867 at Chantilly, taking its name from a nearby forest, and was transferred to Longchamp in 1907. After several early modifications, the distance has been fixed at 1,000 metres since 1921.

Prior to 2002 the race was also open to two-year-olds and it took place in late October.
