Prix de Seine-et-Oise
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Prix de Seine-et-Oise is a Group 3 flat horse race in France for three-year-old and above thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 1,200 metres (approximately 6 furlongs) at Maisons-Laffitte Racecourse in late October or early November.
It was first run in 1906 and is named after Seine-et-Oise, a former department of France in which the racecourse was situated. The race has moved away from Maisons-Laffitte several times during its history, most recently to Chantilly Racecourse in 1995 and 1997-2000.
Prior to 1981 two-year-olds were eligible to participate, and before 2002 the race took place in mid September.
