The Prix de Royaumont is a Group 3 flat horse race in France open to three-year-old thoroughbred fillies. It is run over a distance of 2,400 metres (approximately 1½ miles) at Chantilly Racecourse and takes place annually in late May or early June.
First run on May 13, 1883, the race is named after Royaumont Abbey, located 12 km from Chantilly. It was originally run over 2,100 metres and took place on the same day as the Prix de Diane.
The race was initially reserved for fillies who had been entered for, but withdrawn from, the more prestigious Prix de Diane. The two races continued to be run on the same day until 1977, but since 1978 the Prix de Royaumont has taken place earlier, presently one week before the Group 1 event.
The first two runnings after World War I were at Longchamp (1919–20), where it returned for two periods in the 1940s during and after World War II (1941–42, 1945–47). The other wartime races in 1943 and 1944 were run at Tremblay over 2,150 metres. More recent spells away from Chantilly have been at Longchamp (1987–90) and Saint-Cloud (1991–96 and 2001). The present distance was introduced in 1992.
