Prix de Royallieu

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Prix de Royallieu is a Group 2 flat horse race in France for three-year-old and above thoroughbred fillies and mares. It is run over a distance of 2,500 metres (approximately 1 mile 4½ furlongs) at Longchamp Racecourse during the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe meeting, on the weekend of the first Sunday in October.

It is named after Royallieu, an area close to the town of Compiègne, which was the location of stables used by the French racehorse owner/breeder Count Frédéric de Lagrange in the late 19th century.
