Prix de Flore (horse race)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Prix de Flore is a Group 3 flat horse race in France for three-year-old and above thoroughbred fillies and mares. It is run over a distance of 2,100 metres (approximately 1 mile 2½ furlongs) at Saint-Cloud Racecourse in late October.

It was first run in 1893 at Maisons-Laffitte, where it remained until transferring to Saint-Cloud in 1925. The race was originally only open to three-year-olds, until older fillies and mares became eligible to run in 1981.
