Prix Thomas Bryon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Prix Thomas Bryon is a Group 3 flat horse race in France for two-year-old thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 1,600 metres (approximately 1 mile) at Saint-Cloud Racecourse in October.

The race was first run in 1924 and is named in honour of Thomas Bryon, an Englishman who helped establish thoroughbred horse racing in France in the 19th century. It is currently run over its original distance of 1,600 metres, but during the periods 1927-53 and 1958-90 it was run at 1,500 metres (7½ furlongs).

Past winners of the race include Northern Taste (1973), Arctic Tern (1975) and Nureyev (1979).
