Prix Quincey

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Prix Quincey is a Group 3 flat horse race in France for three-year-old and above thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 1,600 metres (approximately 1 mile) at Deauville Racecourse in late August.

It was first run in 1919 as the Prix de la Plage Fleurie, changing to its present name in 1925. This was in memory of the Comte de Quincey, a prominent figure in French racing who died the previous year.

With the exception of some wartime venue changes and abandonments the race has remained at Deauville throughout its history.
