Prix Miesque
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Prix Miesque is a Group 3 flat horse race in France for two-year-old thoroughbred fillies. It is run over a distance of 1,400 metres (approximately 7 furlongs) at Maisons-Laffitte Racecourse in late October or early November.
It was first run in 2001 and is named after Miesque, an internationally successful French racehorse in the late 1980s, and subsequently a leading broodmare. The race replaced the Prix Saint-Roman, which had traditionally been contested by both sexes until colts were excluded for the last three runnings in 1998, 1999 and 2000.
