Prix Fille de l'Air
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Prix Fille de l'Air is a Group 3 flat horse race in France for three-year-old and above thoroughbred fillies and mares. It is run over a distance of 2,100 metres (approximately 1 mile 2½ furlongs) at Toulouse Racecourse in November.
It was first run in 1902 at Maisons-Laffitte and is named in honour of the racehorse Fille de l'Air, winner of the Epsom Oaks, Prix de Diane and Prix Royal-Oak in 1864.
The race was transferred to Saint-Cloud in 1921, and with the exception of some venue changes during World War II, remained there until 1994. In the following two years it was run at Evry, moving to Toulouse in 1997. The distance of the race has been unchanged since 1929, before which there were several modifications. Prior to 1990 the race was run in June.
