The Prix Exbury is a Group 3 flat horse race in France open to four-year-old and above thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 2,000 metres (approximately 1¼ miles) at Saint-Cloud Racecourse and takes place annually in March. It is usually the first Group race of the European racing season.
It was first run in 1891 at Maisons-Laffitte as the Prix Boiard, named in honour of the racehorse Boiard, winner of the 1873 Grand Prix de Paris. From 1905 to 1910 it was run as the Prix Eugène Adam, reverting to the Prix Boiard in 1911 when the present Prix Eugène Adam took this title.
In 1929 the race was transferred to Saint-Cloud, where it has remained with the exception of some wartime venue changes and cancellations. The present title was introduced in 1969, honouring Exbury, winner of the race in 1963. Originally open to horses three-years-old and up, in 1969 the age restriction was also modified and the race was closed to three-year-olds.
