Acoustically designed by Recording Architecture, the studio has been purpose built to achieve a great sound. The Studio area consists of the control room, two recording rooms and a voice-over/vocal booth, all incorporating reinforced soundproofing and floating room designs.
[edit] Equipment
- RECORDING
The main multitrack system is based on an expanded Soundscape SS32 DAW system. Take after take can be recorded at 24Bit/96KHz resolution without any compromise in quality or performance. For Midi sequencing and programming - RME HDSP 9652 system with RME ADI-8DS converters. The two systems are synchronised to enable massive recording and processing power.
- MIXING
Mixing is via a combination of digital and analogue equipment. The Soundscape on-board DSP mixers are fully automated, with total recall of all parameters. These then pass through the analogue Neve mixing consoles, adding warmth and a great sonic character to the sound. A wide range of outboard equipment compliments the system, bringing life and vitality to the recording. The studio is equipped with high-end equalisers, compressors, limiters and effects units, including equipment from Tube-Tech, MSE Audio, Purple Audio, Calrec, Focusrite, Neve, Lexicon, Eventide, TC Electronic and others. Dynaudio Acoustic monitoring gives a great, accurate sound on the M2 and BM15 speakers.
- MICROPHONES
The microphone collection is extensive and includes highly revered names such as Neumann, Brauner, Soundelux, Microtech Gefell, Royer, Earthworks, AKG, Shure, Audix, Electrovoice, and Sennheiser. A wide range of microphones gives a broad choice of and variation in sounds, meaning that the studio has great tools to capture and compliment many styles of music and recording, from jazz to modern rock, classical to metal.
