Princess Mako Akishino of Japan (秋篠宮眞子内親王殿下 Akishino no miya Mako naishinnō denka; born 23 October 1991) the elder daughter of Prince Akishino (Fumuhito) and his wife, the former Kawashima Kiko, is a member of the Japanese imperial family. She is the first-born granddaughter of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko and is currently a second-year student at Gakushuin Girls' Senior High School in Tokyo.

Princess Mako has one younger sister Princess Kako, and a younger brother, Prince Hisahito.

As of 2008, Princess Mako of Akishino is said to have been dating the prince of Ashanti, Cyrus. The two have been seen in Tokyo together, during the state visit of the Ashanti Chief.[citation needed]
