Prince of Peace Preparatory

The Prince of Peace Preparatory School is a Catholic high school in Clinton, Iowa. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Davenport.
Mission Statement: Prince of Peace Catholic Education System facilitates the teaching ministry of our parish. Our purpose is to provide educational programs that promote Gospel values and Catholic traditions in the context of a changing world. Our schools provide a learning environment in which Christian formation and personal growth are as much a priority as academics. The development of effective learning habits, self-discipline and good citizenship is promoted daily and consistently throughout the grade levels. Caring for others, sharing one’s gifts and talents, and serving one’s community are integral parts of Prince of Peace.
It was previously known as Mater Dei High School and St. Mary's High School. The new full name is Prince of Peace Catholic Academy and College Preparatory School or POPCAPS for short. It is a parochial school under the Clinton Prince of Peace parish. The mission statement is: to provide educational programs that promote Gospel values and Catholic traditions in the context of a changing world.[1]
Prince of Peace is a class 1-A school with several sports teams participating in the Big East athletic conference. Its team is named the "Irish". The school also has a band, chorus, quiz bowl, yearbook, newspaper, student council and several other groups. It is also very competitive in Cross Country, ranked in state and winning its district in 2006, In 2007 they were the disctrict champs and the placed fourth at State. Other sports that the Irish participate in include Cheerleading, Basketball, Track, Soccer, Golf, Baseball, Softball, and Volleyball.
