[edit] Biography

Pierre was born at Grasse (Alpes-Maritimes), the second child and only son of Eudes, duc d'Angoulême and his wife, Marie-Liesse de Rohan-Chabot.[1]

On 17 October 2003 Pierre was baptised in the church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Esperance in Cannes.[2] He received the name Pierre in honour of his great-grandfather Prince Pedro de Alcantara of Orléans-Braganza. The names Jean and Marie are in honour of his godparents, his uncle Jean, duc de Vendôme and his father's cousin Archduchess Simeon of Austria (daughter of Infante Carlos, Duke of Calabria).

Pierre is fourth in line in the Orleanist succession to the French throne after his two uncles, François, comte de Clermont and Jean, duc de Vendôme, and his father. He has one older sister, Thérèse.
