Prince Frederick John of Saxe-Meiningen

Frederick Johann Bernhard Hermann Heinrich Moritz of Saxe-Meiningen (b. Meiningen, 12 October 1861 - killed in battle, Tarcienne, France, 23 August 1914), was a German prince of the ducal house of Saxe-Meiningen.
He was the second son of Georg II, Duke of Saxe-Meiningen and his second wife Feodora of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, a descendant of Diego Velázquez.
He married Adelaide of Lippe-Biesterfeld the daughter of Count Ernst of Lippe-Biesterfeld in Neudorf on the 24 April 1889. They had six children:
- Feodora Karola Charlotte Marie Adelaide Auguste Mathilde, (b. Hannover, 29 May 1890 - d. Freiburg im Breisgau, 12 March 1972), married on 21 January 1910 to Wilhelm Ernst, Grand Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach.
- Adelaide Erna Karoline Marie Elisabeth (b. Kassel, 16 August 1891 - d. La Tour-de-Peilz, 25 April 1971), married on 3 August 1914 to Adalbert of Prussia.
- Georg, Prince of Saxe-Meiningen (b. Kassel, 11 October 1892 - d. as prissioner of war POW in Russian camp of Tschernpowetz, Siberia, 6 January 1946).
- Ernst Leopold Friedrich Wilhelm Otto (b. Hannover, 23 September 1895 - killed in action, near Maubeuge, France, 17 August 1914).
- Luise Marie Elisabeth Mathilde Helene Katharine (b. Köln, 13 March 1899 - d. Oeschelbronn bei Pforzheim, 14 February 1985), married on 25 October 1936 to Götz, Freiherr von Wangenheim.
- Bernhard, Prince of Saxe-Meiningen (b. Köln, 30 June 1901 - d. Bad Krozingen, 4 October 1984).
