Prince Dimitri Romanovich Romanov (born 4 March 1926) is an author and the heir to the prerogatives of Nicholas Romanov, Prince of Russia a claimant to headship of the Imperial House of Russia. Prince Dimitri uses the title Prince of Russia with the style of Highness.[1]

Prince Dimitri was born in Antibes near Cap d'Antibes on the French Riviera. His father was Prince Roman Petrovich of Russia (1896-1978) the son of Grand Duke Peter Nikolaevich of Russia and Princess Milica of Montenegro. His mother Countess Prascovia Sheremeteva (1901-1980) was a member of the Sheremetev family. The first ten years of his life was spent in France before his family moved to Italy where for a time he lived at the Royal Palace in Rome.

In 1960 Prince Dimitri moved to Denmark where he worked for a number of banks including the Danske Bank where he was an executive until his retirement in 1993.[2]

Since his retirement Prince Dimitri has been involved in a number of charitable endeavours and currently serves as Chairman of the Romanov Fund for Russia.[3] He also serves as Chairman of the Prince Dimitri Romanov Charity Fund which he founded in 2006.[4]

In 2006 Prince Dimitri arranged for the remains of Maria Feodorovna the Empress Consort of Alexander III to be returned to Russia.[5]

Prince Dimitri married Johanna von Kauffmann (1936-1989) at Copenhagen on 21 January 1959. He was married secondly to Dorrit Reventlow (born 1942) at Kostroma on July 28, 1993 in what was the first marriage of a Romanov in Russia since the fall of the dynasty.[1][6]

Dimitri is fluent in Russian, French, English, Danish and Italian.
