Prince Crago,'The Crow'

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Prince Crago was a Prince of the Alamanni who founded the town of Creglingen in Germany in the late fourth or early fifth century AD.

[edit] The Crow

His name, 'Crago', apparently means "Crow", as in the bird. It is unknown whether this relates to the emblem of a particular tribe within the Alamanni that he belonged to or whether there was some other reason for him bearing such a unique name, it is also unclear as to whether persons with the surname 'Crago' are necessarily of Alamannic ancestry.
