Primus Canada is a Canadian telecommunications company. Primus operates as a CLEC — buying services at wholesale rates and reselling them to consumers. The company offers long distance, wireless, VoIP, DSL Internet, and POTS to both the residential and business markets.
Primus was founded in 1997 as a wholly owned subsidiary of McLean, Virginia-based Primus Telecommunications Group, Incorporated. With over 700 employees, Primus has offices in many Canadian cities including Ottawa, Vancouver, Oakville, London, Windsor, Montreal, Toronto and Edmundston.
Since Primus Canada is not a public company and does not release sales figures, the only indication of its size is the fact that Primus is the third largest CLEC in Canada.
