[edit] The Quest Begins

Primus was present at the deathbed of his father, the King of Stormhold. His elder brother Secundus died being pushed from a window by the King's youngest and most ruthless son, Septimus. Just before dying, the King removed the Power of Stormhold, a great jewel from around his neck and threw it out of the window into the kingdom, saying that whoever retrieved it would be King. Before Primus and his brothers, Septimus and Tertius begin their quest, they toast with wine. Septimus poisons Tertius and he and Primus begin their quest for the star.

[edit] The Search for the Star

When the quest begins, Primus made a deal with Septimus' soothsayer to help him betray Septimus. He encountered Tristan Thorne, and allows him to ride with him to Lamia's Inn.

[edit] Death

Primus took a bath at an inn which was actually a trap for Yvaine set by the Witch-Queen, Lamia. He later saw Yvaine and begins flirting with her only to realise that she was wearing the Power of Stormhold around her neck. He began to threaten her into giving him the jewel when his throat was slashed by Lamia. He appears as a ghost alongside with his brothers, Tertius, Secundus, Quartus, Quintus, and Sextus. Since then, he watches the final showdown between Septimus, Tristran and Lamia. After Tristan became King of Stormhold, Primus, along with his brothers, passes on to the afterlife.

[edit] Personality

Primus is relatively speaking the most honourable of the seven princes of Stormhold as he, unlike the others, has a conscience. The Archbishop of Stormhold confides to Primus that he would like to see him take the throne, saying that he would be the first benevolent king for many a year. After Septimus poisons Tertius and the Bishop, Primus is disgusted that Septimus poisoned the Bishop who wasn't even a threat to him. Septimus however points out that the poisoned chalice that the Bishop drunk out of was actually intended for Primus, leaving the prince wracked with guilt. Despite being the more benign of the seven brothers, Primus is highly ruthless when crossed.
