Priekulė (pronunciation ) is a city in Klaipėda District. It is located 20 km south of Klaipėda, on a River Minija bank. priekulė is Priekulė Elderate centre.

According to the Treaty of Melno the region inhabited mostly by Lithuanians was granted to the Teutonic Order, and later to the Duchy of Prussia. Priekulė's name is known since first half of the 16th century. At first it was named Paminija, and it weas village with three homesteads. Later the sttlement was renamed after locale elder.
1923 Priekulė became part of Lithuanian Republic, and December 19th, 2002 city was granted Coat of Arms by President of Lithuania.

There is 1938 built St. Anthony of Padua church in Priekulė. In the city park grows a centuries old oak, that is preserved as monument of nature. In the city there is a monument to Lithuanian writer Ieva Simonaitytė. Her cottage is turned into memorial museum (established in 1984).
