PRIDE 28: High Octane was a mixed martial arts event held by the PRIDE Fighting Championships. It took place at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan on October 31, 2004.

[edit] Heath Herring vs. Hirotaka Yokoi
Heath Herring knocked out Hirotaka Yokoi via repeated knees to the head, 1:55 into the fight.
[edit] Soa Palalei vs. Choi Mu Bae
Mu Bae Choi made Soa Palalei submit with a rear naked choke 4:55 into the second round.
[edit] Sergey Ignatov vs. Ricardo Arona
Ricardo Arona defeated Sergey Ignatov by submission with a rear naked choke 9:05 into the first round.
[edit] Aleksander Emelianenko vs. James Thompson
These two fighters got into a slugfest immediately. After only 11 seconds, Aleksander Emelianenko knocked out James Thompson.
[edit] Hiromitsu Kanehara vs. Alistair Overeem
Alistar Overeem defeated Hiromitsu Kanehara by TKO after 3:52 of Round 2. Overeem opened up a huge cut under Kanehara's eye with knee strikes, and the doctor was forced to stop the fight.
[edit] Mark Hunt vs. Dan Bobish
Mark Hunt knocked out Dan Bobish with an uppercut 6:32 into Round 1.
[edit] Kazuhiro Nakamura vs. Dan Henderson
Dan Henderson won by TKO over Kazuhiro Nakamura just 1:15 into the fight. While both men were on the ground, Henderson started landing knees to Nakamura's shoulder which ultimately dislocated it. The referee stopped the fight upon noticing the injury.
[edit] Josh Barnett vs. Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic
In a very anti-climactic match, "Cro Cop" was declared the winner after only 46 seconds of fighting when Josh Barnett had to submit due to his shoulder becoming fractured and dislocated. There was no clear offensive maneuver by Filipović that could cause the dislocation, making for a very bizarre ending.

[edit] Wanderlei Silva vs. Quinton Jackson
In the main event, Wanderlei Silva knocked out Quinton Jackson with a series of punches and standing knee strikes, 3:26 into the second round, to successfully retain the PRIDE Middleweight Championship.
