Below are list of articles of male ali'i or high chiefs. Who have later, posthumously, been popularly labeled (mostly erroneously) princes, although only a limited number of royal relatives ever received the princely title from the reigning monarchs? No monarch beyond Kamehameha IV ever had any son and only Kamehameha I's son lived to adulthood. It is not certain that Kamehameha III ever, officially, gave any titles to any of his relatives, even his nephews and heir apparent Alexander Liholiho. Kamehameha III was the first Hawaiian king to grant titles other than alii or alii nui.
