[edit] Captain Cutaneum

Hi! I saw your message on the AFD and I thought I'd let you know that I edited the article so that it complied with Wikipedia policy. The long list of skin-care and anti-cancer tips didn't describe the purported subject of the article, which is why I removed them. I instead embedded links to the Wikipedia articles on skin cancer, lentigo, melanoma, and dermatology, and put a link to your website.

Just as a side note, from your user name I'm assuming you're either Dr. Lines or affiliated with him. If you are, you should check out our Conflict of interest guidelines. One of the main reasons articles are either deleted or edited is because their original authors were closely related to the subject (or in some cases the subject himself or herself) which brought up the possibility (or even an appearance) of a conflict of interest. Another reason is a lack of references to reliable, third-party sources not related to the subject. For instance, in this case, it wouldn't be policy to use the captaincutaneum.com website as a direct reference (although linking to it is certainly acceptable, and I've done that), but of course the medical journal article and the numerous articles from newspapers and major television outlets are acceptable sources, and I've added them.

I was actually going to ask if we could use an image of Captain Cutaneum on this site. In order to do that, the image would have to be permitted to be licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License. That would mean, though, that anyone else could use the image as long as they passed on that it was available under the GFDL. Please let me know on this page, and if you agree let me know where I can find an image online and I'll add it to the page.

I'd like to thank you for (albeit inadvertently) bringing this very interesting character to my attention. I have many young cousins who would be interested in your website (being in Canada they're a little too far away to see you in person), and I hope you don't mind that I've passed on the URL to your website to their parents.

Take care. --Charlene 06:03, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Presidentlines. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Captainrockinghard.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Presidentlines. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 19:35, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
