Pretty Persuasion is not a teen film according to wikipedia's definition of such, "This is a list of "teen films," movies centering around the lives of teenagers, with teens as the target audience." This film adresses bestiality, anal sex, group sex, drug use, and racism, earning it a well deserved "R" title. While it does center around the lives of teenagers, its target audience is much more adult oriented then "teen films" implies.

I agree, and have removed the "teen" from the discription. It is a very hard core satire. Most teens do not get the very strong David Mamet theme that runs through. Even the diaglogue is a satire of Mamet.68.88.13.169 21:19, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Postmodern?

After watching this film, i ask myself: Is this what is often called post-modern? The interplay of truth-possibilities, the twisting of the story, the artificiality of life? -- ExpImptalkcon 01:47, 28 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Quotes

i will later move them to wikiquotes.

we will not tolerate racial slurs at roxbury. while you can use them at any other time, at home, at the mall, at rock and roll concerts, but when you are under my roof, you will respect the heritage of every student and faculty member. Do I make myself clear?

ahem, i have actually been thinking... pff.. how gonna put this tactfully. Barry, i never really liked you all that much and i think we should break up.

Randa: I would like to be a doctor, because i think it is a good thing to help society. I want especially to help the poor.

Kimberly: Okay, Randa that's really sweet, but in America doctors don't help the poor. And i hope you are not implying that actresses don't help society, because they often attend charity events and appear in films that have important social messages.

Randa: I'm sorry, i didn't mean to.

Kimberly: It's okay. I just hope that me and Britney can persuade you to change your mind - Being a doctor requires an awful lot of schooling. while, as the wonderful thing about being an actress is, you don't have to study at all. All it takes is talent, determination - and sleeping with some people who you otherwise wouldn't.

Britney: And the Edge.

Kimberly: Yes. Britney and I often talk about the Edge. You see, unfortunately we are not the only aspiring actresses in this town. It's full to the brim with competition, most of whom are equally talented, equally as beautiful and equally as promiscuous. So you need something to separate yourself from the pack. You need the Edge.

[edit] comedy

the film is not a comedy, I'm sure. it starts like one, but then the film makes a 180° turning in the very end. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 89.52.138.34 (talk) 10:40, 22 April 2007 (UTC).
