From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Quote

In the American midwestern states it is associated not with sustainable agriculture but with mainstream farmers who are trying to maximize profits by spending money only in areas that need fertilizer.

End quote

Now, what is midwest supposed to mean? I think it can mean the opposite of MiddleWest, or some parts of US or any other country for that matter.
