Prevayler

Prevayler is an object prevalence layer written in Java, used to transparently persist Plain Old Java Objects. Read operations are three to four orders of magnitude faster with Prevayler when compared to traditional database systems since all objects are always in RAM and in-process.
Prevayler is the first known publicly-available, generic object prevalence layer, having coined the term. It is open source software, licensed using a BSD-style license.
