"Pretty Baby" is the third single from Vanessa Carlton's debut album, Be Not Nobody. It was not as successful in the United States as her prior two singles, for it did not chart on the Billboard Hot 100, although it hit #1 on Billboard's Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles Chart (= #101).

[edit] Music video

The music video features Brendan Fehr as Vanessa's boyfriend. She does not want to lose him and feels as though he may be slipping away from her. Vanessa is featured singing in a house, and flashbacks of their times together are shown. During the video, she becomes upset with her boyfriend and throws his guitar, which she bought for him as a present, out the window. The video ends with Vanessa having tied and bound her boyfriend to a chair, and having taped his mouth shut. MTV refused to air this version, so Vanessa and her record label edited the video.[1]
