Presumptive Tax Regime was introduced in 1990s in Pakistan, to attract investment in the manufacturing sector. The tax liability, in the case of manufacturers under this regime is equal to the tax deducted at source on transaction of supplies equal to 3.5 percent of the sale value, irrespective of net income arising on such transactions.
