Route 2 | Walton-le-Dale - Preston North Circular | 7am - 7pm | 6-8 mins |
[edit] Fleet
The park and ride services are run using Optare Solo buses. The network livery consists of a dark pink body, with a dark blue base and a light blue 'swish' at the back. Preston Bus is the first operator of Optare Solo SR buses, as eight have been acquired for the Park & Ride routes,[1] five of which entered service in May 2008. The new buses are in a different livery, blue with a white 'swish' at the back separated by magenta strips.[2]
The buses used range in length, with the new buses being slightly longer. The buses are small enough to manoeuvre round the tight curves and bends in the street layout of Preston, while at the same time having space for many sitting and standing passengers, and one disabled or pushchair space. On some peak hours, standard Preston Bus Solos come to re-enforce the service to provide extra capacity.
