Preston Zimmerman (b. 1988) is an American footballer for German team Hamburg SV's U-23 team Hamburg SV II[1]. Zimmerman is a striker for the team playing 13 games and scoring three goals during the 2006-2007 season.[2] Zimmerman signed with the German team while he was only 17 but the contract didn't become official until he turned 18, skirting FIFA's rules on foreign transfers by minors.[3] Zimmerman was a last-minute addition to the U.S. team at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada following an injury to Johann Smith. He is currently on trial at Belgian club Cercle Brugge.
