The President of the University of Florida is the university president of the University of Florida. The University of Florida campus is in Gainesville, Florida; it is the flagship university in the State University System of Florida. Although the institution was historically founded in 1853, it officially became the University of Florida in 1905.[1]
The 16th and current president is J. Bernard "Bernie" Machen, who has served since 2003.
