Presbyterian Church of India

Presbyterian Church of India (PCI) is one of the mainline Protestant Churches in India with over one million adherents mostly in Northeastern part of India. The name 'Presbyterian Church of India' (PCI) was adopted as an official name in 1992 by a General Assembly of the Synod. PCI has its headquarters in [[Shillong], the capital of Meghalaya state in Northeast India.

Rev. & Mrs. Thomas Jones from Welsh Presbyterian Church arrived in Khasi Hills on June 22, 1914. While Rev. D.E Jones had already started working among Mizos in 1897.

According to 1998 statistics the Presbyterian Church of India has a total strength of 8,23,456 and 2,568 local churches of which Mizoram Presbyterian Churches makes up almost half of the members.
