Premio Parioli

The Premio Parioli, sometimes referred to as the Italian 2,000 Guineas, is a Group 3 flat horse race in Italy open to three-year-old thoroughbred colts. It is run over a distance of 1,600 metres (approximately 1 mile) at Capannelle Racecourse, Rome and takes place annually in late April or early May.
It is the Italian equivalent of the English 2,000 Guineas and was classed as a Group 1 race from 1991 to 1995. The race then held Group 2 status until it was downgraded to Group 3 level in 2007.
