Premio Mario Incisa

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Premio Mario Incisa is a Group 3 flat horse race in Italy for three-year-old thoroughbred fillies. It is run over a distance of 2,000 metres (approximately 1¼ miles) at San Siro Racecourse in May or June.

It was formerly known as the Premio Legnano, changing to the present title in memory of Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, owner of the celebrated Italian racehorse Ribot.

In 1995 the distance of the race was reduced to 1,600 metres (1 mile), which was increased to 2,400 metres (1½ miles) from 1997. The current distance was set in 2005, prior to which the race was also open to older fillies.
